What is Apostolic Christianity

Apostolic Christianity (don't get bogged down with the title) is the Christianity of Christ Jesus and the Apostles.  In other words, the united law of Moses with the doctrine of Christ Jesus (grace). I find it very helpful to repeat (from memory) The Great Commandment several times throughout the day and evening (including chapter, verse, and content).  If you have not memorized it....it is not yet etched into your heart.  If it is not etched into your heart then the cornerstone of your faith is lacking.  Let's share it here before we go on.  Matthew 22:37-40   Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Unfortunately man has even perverted Apostolic Christianity over the centuries.  Take the time to study the Bible and search out the Truth for yourself!  The standard orthodoxy of the church formed just some forty days after the death of Christ Jesus is the original Church of God.  That little flock (Luke 12:32) has never been completely silenced throughout the centuries but has been slowly perverted!  For thousands of years Satan has tried to lead us all away from the Truth and unfortunately has been quite successful at it - and he is destroying our society - creating unnecessary division between Christians - darkening our souls and determining our eternal relationship with God our Heavenly Father!  Our time is limited collectively as well as individually.  Mankind has been deceived by a very clever deceiver (Revelation 12:9).

The Bible makes it clear that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever" (Hebrews 13:8).  The Christianity of Christ Jesus and the Apostles is nearly unrecognizable from what is being practiced worldwide today.  Certainly the Christianity of the New Testament simply doesn't (or barely) exist. For example, observing different days of worship.  Throughout the book of Acts, one will find that the Apostles continued to observe the Sabbath regularly.  They did this with Jews as well as Gentiles. Guided by the Holy Spirit, the entire early New Testament Church continued to meet on the seventh-day Sabbath for decades after the death of Christ Jesus. According to the Bible, Christianity honored the Jewish Sabbath of Saturday.  Gradually, the first day replaced the seventh day.  "As long as the church was mainly Jewish, the Hebrew sabbath was kept; but as it became increasingly Gentile the first day gradually took the place of the seventh day" (Hurlbut, 1970).  Gradually, millions of professing Christians were deceived by self-serving men - knowingly or unknowingly, serving the will of the dark one - Satan.  Gradually, under that same inspiration the entire concept of obedience to God and God's Law changed.  Christmas, Easter, and other blended pagan festivals made by man are never mentioned in the Bible...don't take my word for it, search in your own Bible!  For example, under the influence of the emperor Constantine the deliberate merging of a combination of different systems (beliefs) occurred.  The Saturday Jewish Sabbath was replaced by Constantine’s edict (formal proclamation) forbidding work on the venerable day of the sun (Sunday), and the celebration of the Passover was declared illegal—on pain of death.  It was replaced by Easter, celebrated on a Sunday and inherited from a Babylonian cult to the goddess Ishtar.  Satan has done a masterful job of creating a conterfeit Christianity.  Sadly, a deceived person does not know that he is deceived.

Jesus kept the same Festivals the Jewish community kept (John 7:2; 11:55).  As Christians I believe that we should NOT let this point (Saturday or Sunday sabbath) create a snare for us that will set further distance between us and weaken our Christian unity.  There are bigger fish to fry than allowing this point to bog us down as Christians!  We must ALL study our Bible and pay close attention to history however!  The human spin applied to the original Christianity taught by Jesus and the Apostles created the plethera of doctrinal disputes that eventually led us to the perverted secularization of today.  When I begin to question all the doctrinal differences that constitute the formation, foundation, and framework of ALL THE WORLDS religions....I always return to Matthew 22:37-40.  Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

Historians and scholars acknowledge that within a few centuries after Jesus' death the original Christianity taught by Jesus and the Apostles dramatically changed.  Though the church claimed apostolic origin, pagan festivals, rituals, and mystery rituals slowly became part of the new Christianity being taught and practiced. Will Durant, a Roman Catholic historian purported Christianity did not destroy paganism; it adopted it!  Though I may not personally celebrate all the festivals the Jewish community and Christ Jesus kept, I have made myself aware and study the festivals to this day.  They are so interesting and one finds many "branches" to explore - I love details and history!  Just a reminder...Study under the guidance of the Holy Spirit...know that what is false - is false. What is true - still is and will never change.

We have no Christianity at all if we do not believe the Christianity of Christ Jesus.  There is no hope of justification or salvation without belief in Christ Jesus.  Under the direction of Satan mankind has tried and tried to remake Christianity.  Satan is so successful that most of human society unknowingly follows any number of comfortable, self-satisfying, man-made philosophies to include the false belief of no God or Christ whatsoever.  William Bennett posited we have become the kind of society that civilized countries used to send missionaries to!
